The Company

Men's department store Harrolds has undergone a change of hands - to just one pair.

John Poulakis is now the sole director and owner of the luxury icon, having acquired the stake belonging to his brother and business partner for 30 years Theo Poulakis.

Harrolds maintains the change in ownership will have no short term impact on its management strategy.

Harrolds has pioneered luxury menswear in the Australian market, offering brands such as Tom Ford, Balmain Paris, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga Paris and Comme des Garcons.

The retailer has also developed a reputation for its customer service.

Harrolds offers a made-to-measure service, along with a lounge area where customers can enjoy an espresso or champagne as they browse luxury collections.

The company has a flagship store in Melbourne and Sydney.

Harrolds Melbourne is located in Collins Street, while the Sydney site is positioned in Westfield Sydney.

Both sites offer an edited selection of premium men's fashion and accessories.

Look & Feel

The Harrolds luxury department store exists for the sole reason of outfitting men, no matter the job. There is one condition though: it doesn’t come cheap.
Elegant and distinguished, Harrolds is the menswear emporium for an elite circle of Sydney's most affluent and well-dressed men. The store was designed by Japanese architect Victor Isobe, who gave the space a clean yet masculine feel.
The attention Harrolds gives to delivering high-end luxury and curated taste is remarkable. Stocking the likes of Raf Simons, YSL and the cult of Rick Owens and Kris Van Assche, the store also gives rack space to smaller, more directional labels like French record/fashion label Kitsuné and jeans from Naked & Famous Denim.
Harrolds is segmented by occasion, with the back room reserved for tailoring and the classic menswear and the 'Smoking Room' for the evening wear collection, for those with places to go.
The most extravagant feature, however, must be the Tom Ford boutique inside the store, arguably one of the most luxurious places to be clothed in town.
